I am deeply committed to providing gold standard rehabilitation, and that commitment has only strengthened over the last 13+ years in the industry. Every year I actively invest in developing my knowledge and clinical skills, completing a minimum of 25 hours of Continued Professional Development to ensure I remain current, evidence-led and progressive in my approach.
My journey began in 2013 when I qualified with my Level 3 Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy, followed by my Level 5 qualification in 2016. However, my true passion for rehabilitation began when my own dog, Willow, required lifelong management for hip dysplasia. Supporting her through that journey gave me first hand insight into the importance of tailored, longterm rehabilitation, not just exercise, but true clinical reasoning and case management.
Hydrotherapy had a profound impact on Willow, and seeing those changes sparked something in me. Once I began treating patients myself, I quickly recognised the gap that can exist between standalone hydrotherapy sessions and fully integrated rehabilitation programmes. That realisation shaped the way I work today.
I have always been driven to raise standards within the industry and was proud to serve as Vice Chair of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA) for several years, advocating for professionalism, education and clinical accountability.
Over the past decade, I have built a thriving rehabilitation centre where I remain hands on. My approach is structured, evidence-based and holistic, always adapting to the individual patient and progressing at their pace. My focus is not just on treatment, but on delivering meaningful, measurable outcomes for every dog in my care.
My lifelong passion for working with animals led me to an exciting opportunity in October 2017 when I began volunteering at Willows Hydrotherapy. Over the years, my dedication and commitment have driven me to achieve a Level 3 Small Animal Hydrotherapist qualification and, subsequently, a Level 5 certification in Advanced Canine Hydrotherapy Techniques.
I wholeheartedly embrace my role as a qualified hydrotherapist at Willows, and my enthusiasm for continuous growth is unwavering. Each year, I allocate 25 hours to Continued Professional Development (CPD) to stay at the forefront of my field. Collaborating within our dynamic team and contributing to the broader Multidisciplinary team is a source of great fulfillment for me.
In addition to my role at Willows, I also engage part-time in the field of education. In my leisure hours, you’ll often find me enjoying refreshing walks with my cherished Shih-Tzu companion, Max.
“I am a passionate and a dedicated Canine Hydrotherapist at Willow’s, where I help dogs on their journey to recovery and rehabilitation. My personal experience with my own dog, who suffered from a disc herniation resulting in surgery, leaving him being paralysed and having to teach him to walk again, ignited my drive to pursue this rewarding career.
Having witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by dogs dealing with injury and mobility issues, I have developed a deep empathy for both the animals and their owners. This experience with my own dog inspired me to specialise in canine hydrotherapy, a field that combines my love for animals with my commitment to promoting their health and well-being.
After completing my Level 3 qualification in Canine Hydrotherapy, I am delivering tailored hydrotherapy sessions that enhance physical rehabilitation, improve mobility, and reduce pain. I work closely with both dogs and their owners, offering expert advice on treatment plans and guiding them through each step of the recovery process.
I am now currently doing my Level 4 which will expand my knowledge even further as well as 25 hours of Continued Professional Development (CPD) each year.
I absolutely love my role at Willow’s and love seeing each furry face who walks through the door!”
